How to reduce risk of road salt related corrosion?

Having used my GTS a few times over the Christmas period on gritted roads, I was wondering what others do to remove any road salt from the underside of their cars, or is this not a significant concern on late GTS models? I am conscious about the other thread concerning chassis corrosion on earlier QP5 and GTS cars.

Yup.....as above, through blasting with pressure washer, allow to dry fully, check for damage to underside paint/protection, repair or re-instate to normal, if truly concerned apply a wax based cavity protector, usually needs done annually

Personally after having a GTS that started to go underneath, I would simply have it under sealed. Rinsing off the salt is not really going to be doable.

Emblem did my Spyder for a £300 I beleive, money well spent.

I would also recommend doing the cavities if poor on surface, whats it like in parts you can't see?!.....there are companies doing this specifically, its mostly labour intensive

Sounds like excellent advice and a job to get done in the new year. Certainly worth spending some time underneath to catch any problems early.

But best thing is not to expose to salt full stop....am not sure of the accelerant salt is to the process, but am sure it huge...anyone?

The Range Rover I'd bought in October had never been exposed to salt, nor indeed really been off road, my guy hadn't seen as clean an under side of that model, even when they were just a few years old. So we spent about 12 hours stripping preparing and then filling/covering
