How to remove side window trims?

Greetings,

I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me how to remove the side window trims? One of mine has had some of the black paint peeled off since before I bought the car and it has started to irritate me enough to finally do something about it. I first had them both wrapped in carbon fibre vinyl in order to accomplish a short-term solution, but the cheap look of it buggers me incessantly.

The parts I'm talking about are numbers 3 and 4 on this drawing here.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance.

I took a closer look at it today, and it seems that several screws hold the trim pieces down. The screws are accesible if one bend the rubber seal aside gently - at least all the way to the B-pillar. Then it gets trickier, and it seems one has to remove the rear quarter windows in order to be able to remove it completely.

I just masked mlne off and gave them a good spray with satin black and lacquer - only a couple of lazy hours and they look like new

I would be inclined to go this route, inevitably, trim like this gets damaged when removing.

A couple of photo's (apologies for quality but it was hard to get a decent piccy at the time with my phone)

Before - lots of score marks from a fair number of polishes:

After a few minutes with a rattle can, some masking tape and last weeks free newspaper

It looks far better than the photo's seem to show

Thanks for the replies. Guess the masking and painting will be some sort of last resort solution, as I've now taken a liking to having the trims finished in carbon fibre. Thing is though, that I don't want cheap vinyl **** on the car but I will need to remove the trims in order to skin them with real carbon fibre.
