Independent specialists in South devon

Hi all - I'm looking for an independent specialist to look after our Levante. We are in the Torbay area and the nearest main dealers seem to be exeter or Southampton. I found that independents were often more conscientious and knowledgeable for my Porsches (yes, I come from the dark side!), so would like to find a good one in the area. The Lev needs a minor service - could I even entrust that to my friend who owns a (very good) local garage? It seems to be a simple oil/filter change with check of brake pads.,etc. This Maserati has been our "toe in the water" with the marque and I have been really impressed with the quality of the thing - there may be more Maseratis in our future, so I'm keen to build a relationship with a good independent workshop.
Any suggestions or recommendations?

Welcome and it depends on the service history you want.
A Good Garage can Service it but what they won't be able to do is any software updates.

Carrs used to be the main dealer in Exeter but they closed the Maserati side of the business, and an Exeter indie closed their workshop too.

DL also tell me they will service Maseratis, but they are not very good at responding to rfq's. They do, however, MOT both my QP's.

I used Carr's when I lived in Weston super Mare and they collect and deliver in there lovely truck.
Service was very good yes you pay dealership prices but it kept the history trail on my 360 all Ferrari.

Dick Lovett at Swindon (just off M4 J16). They used to be Maserati main dealers, but like Carrs they relinquished the Maserati franchise to concentrate on Ferrari. When I bought a QP from them five years ago they said they would continue to support Maserati owners, and they are still happy to do my MOT's. Lovely place to visit, with a great selection of cars, and the staff are always nice. The site is co-located with their Porsche dealership, so well worth a visit if you're in the area.

I too live in Devon. There is very little here and you have identified the options….i have concluded that Emblem is the way forward now the SI has packed up its tools (hopefully temporarily).

There is a Ferrari indie in North Devon (Braunton) or Carrs in Exeter.

Thanks to all of you for the help!
Great stuff - glad I joined the forum.
Becoming a Maserati fan and looking to see if we can get a Coupe in the future - not the current one - must have the V8! I love Porsches and have had many 911s and 986/981s over the years. Having worked at style porsche in Weissach and been exterior designer of the 981s inc. GT4 amongst other vehicles (sketch attached if you are interested), I know them "inside out" and have been very impressed by quality of the Levante we have. The infotainment and window switches from our old Grand Cherokee were heavily criticised in the press, but they work well. Worst quality detail is the cheap looking script under the infotainment, but I can live with that. What the Levante has is exclusivity and charisma in spades....
