I’ve looked at these in the past, drove a couple, but as far as I’m aware the back seats don’t fold down, which I need every now and then, daughter going travelling soon so I will no doubt have the Fiat 500 and the Golf to flip, all though son wants Golf, but can’t afford tax and insurance, have a feeling mum will step in..........

I had a 2008 2.7 diesel which was one of the best cars I ever had. I had it for 6 years and did around 70000 miles with almost nothing going wrong apart from an EGR valve. It wasn’t that economical TBH but the 3.0 is apparently much better. It was a brilliant long distance cruiser with loads of toys.

I sold it to release cash for my 1st Maserati!

My lunar grey XF S Portfolio was a terrific car. Interior was very classy, fab seats and had loads of toys. Blind spot assist etc etc
Nothing went wrong.
B&W sound system was excellent, very comfortable, quick, decent economy.
Reversing camera was great.
The only negative I read prior to purchase was a problem for those doing short runs (diesel cars) each week....something about cats not burning off or something which led to limp home issues. Remedy was a suggested long blast once a week for the cycling......didn’t trouble me
I’d buy another.
Cheers Wattie

I had 2010 XFS Portfolio which had the higher power Diesel engine. All in all very good car, and the quality of materials and finish were better than the 2015 replacement. This is why I switched to the Ghibli.
Whilst the XF was good the Ghibli (albeit with Skyhook) handles much better, is more refined, and has better economy.
If your looking used why not consider the Ghibli Diesel?

Ha ha Mike being that the diesel engine is Peugeot Citroen that ticks that box :)

Sorry Phil, but if you don't have a Frenchie car over there as a daily your doomed mate, you'll be burned at the stake in every local bar..

An old English XJ6 Jag for the weekend though, wow, they'd love that!

We've an old Citroen AX GT when we go over there, beaten the death and full of battle scars but it never gives any trouble, you can leave it anywhere, unlocked:cool:

Love it Dave got my eye on a 69 XJ6 4.2 for my weekend car.
My French partner who is more Glamorous than me really fancies the XF and as she will be working full time she can have it.
I'm also dancing for my daily hack an 80'S BMW 735i manual box ;)

Cheers Dicky but as I'm moving to live in France I need LHD so going to buy one in France but that one looks a Stunner if I was in the UK.

I wouldn't be rushing to buy in France, much dearer than in the UK. I've been driving my RHD QP in France for the last month without problem, I've owned several RHD in France without a problem, I've owned LHD cars in the UK without a problem.

Just look at this price, then buy the one in Richard's link.
