Browse the threads here under Quattroporte for valuable information
Look at reputable service history
One of the biggest decisions is, do you want and Auto (2007 onwards) or a Manual with potential clutch issues?
Next think about Variators which seem to be problematic around 45 -50 thousand miles (£4500 bill) upto around 2009 when better ones were in place
Also think about trim. GT, Sport, Executive
Whatever is right for you I can promise you will not regret the purchase

There are none to be avoided, and no best years. It simply boils down to buying the car with the spec you want, in the colour you want, with a proper service history and provenance. I love the manual and have had three (totalling over 100,000 miles and never needing a clutch). But others (especially townies) prefer the auto. Just work out what you want and buy the best in your budget.

Overall, as long as you buy from a reputable specialist (or get a proper pre-purchase inspection), you'll be fine.

My recommendation is that you call Richard Grace Cars, give Dicky your budget, wait, and let him come up trumps.

Thank all for that, one quick question and excuse my ignorance..... there are cars with paddle shift and a little t bar to select 1st & reverse and then others with paddle and a shifter, is the later better to have ?

Thank you all again

As Dave Rickardson said above

"One of the biggest decisions is, do you want and Auto (2007 onwards) or a Manual with potential clutch issues"

Auto has the shifter, Duoselect (robotised manual) has the T bar.

I have an auto without the paddles. Can't decide whether to get these fitted. Not sure it makes sense on an auto somehow. Save my pennies for a DBW and Xpipe perhaps...

Love the QP
