image.jpgHi all

I have a lacquer issue caused by a stone chip and over enthusiastic pressure washing!

Any ideas on how best to fix and if its a DIY or man in job?

Many thanks

Its going to need repainting and good luck with that. From the pics it looks like Medeterano Blu and its a pig to match.

Just make sure if you take it to an non Maserati paint shop to insist upon them buying the paint from PPG and not to mix it.

Its actually a 3 stage paint, a base, top then lacquer so make sure you by the NEXUS range not from any other as this is the 3 stage system

Just to make that 100% clear, that is PPG Nexus Medetarano Blu you need and nothing else.

It might be worth taking it to the paint shop and asking if they can just lacquer it. They will have to fill and wet sand the areas with the lacquer missing but you will retain then retain your factory colour match.

I don't think you'll need to paint it. A good bodyshop should be able to light sand the clear coat off for that area, then just respray the lacquer.

If so Ross then that would be the preferred route. Mind you I think sanding off just the lacquer without sanding through the base coats will be a tricky job.
