No bread, no beer, no late nights till the weekend. Can I make it....

Strangely though, I was driving down a single lane carriage way last night, following two cars at the 40mph limit and my reaction was to drop it two cogs and overtake...

This^^^^

I also found myself 'limiting' my speed on the M25/M26/M20 to 'only' 100mph errr kmh. Seems weird driving and not going at warp factor 5.

Had a LMP1 moment with 3 MX5s on the A3... One tried to keep up, I let him pass then he got rather smelly (oil), he gave up...
They were Israeli plated(!) and were modified to say the least...

Following on from the boastful jibe by Mr Yoghurt of this parish, I would like to open a debate on this thread regarding whether next years Le Mans trip should have a theme for those that wish to come with a £500 Italian Car.
To give you all the background, it's been bandied about by certain members that the forum should do a 'cheap car run' at some point. Le Mans being a relatively short trip and with an emphasis of fun being an obvious opportunity. Damon is creating some rules based on people's opinions. Not everyone is convinced and would like to take their own cars rather spend £500 on a cheap Italian(tbc) car and a possible further £500(tbc) on preparation etc, which is fair enough.

So I open up the floor to what people who would like to come for the first time or returning regulars would like to do. Do we make it a competition (best in show) , should there be a theme, do we have different classes etc. Different routes for cheap cars to those in their own car.

Keep it clean, and stay on thread...(the pointless request)

The idea of a banger run to Le Mans is tempting, we have been discussing something similar with our group but whether it actually gets off the ground will be a different matter

And that the aim of this thread, to garner opinion and enthusiasm and execute at Le Mans 2019 with a clear set of 'rules'.

So how about if "a friend" sold me an Aston for £500 on the agreement that I sold it back to him after the event, would that be OK?

This is an obvious loophole, and where it can get messy. I think am attitude of spirit of the rules needs to be employed.

Transfer of sale must be reflected on the V5 document, so if your friend sells you his car for £500 he can do but he'll end up with 2 extra owners on his V5! He may now think twice.
