There used to be a sign in the car park 'Ride like a knob, and you'll die'

Lots of people have validated that....

Out of shot left is an Eventador and an Aston DBS Volante. A really good run and lots of fun was had by all.

Ian, if you come out of Buxton up Long Hill, take the first sign left for Goyt Vally, it is a bit bumpy and narrow to start but gets better and comes out in the middle of the average speed complex without having entered it via a camera :) just a thought...

Thanks Newton. We only tend to use the Cat and Fiddle as a means of getting to other Roads without cameras. I met them there because I was late getting out of the Crewe area because a tanker overturned and caught fire at J16. Even so I still did 160 miles in the evening. Well worth it though, I was wired when I got home.

Absolutely agree, there are some sensational roads around there, off the average speed network. They do throw the the helicopter up on occasions but mostly weekends for the bikes and then it is usually on the A6 and A515 as it is easy pickings. I'm not aware of anyone who has actually been done in the Cat & Fiddle to Macclesfield set yet....

.....there is a rumour they aren't even active. The short cut you mentioned and another one you can join after the start of the average speed section corrupt the accuracy of the cameras such an extaent that you can turn off, maintain the max speed along the short cut, rejoin and still be over the max average speed on the main road. Motorcycle News proved it just after they were erected. However, I wouldn't like to have to argue that toss in court so 'they' win this one.

I was on the list at one point, but I had to pull out and went to Le Mans instead. It was an excellent trip by all accounts.
