I guess the mid-way option is to keep the MCV, but improve the exhaust system, suspension and mapping. Relatively similar performance and handling to the Stradale without as much extra cost and less depreciation, though I do accept the modifications might narrow down the re-sale market, should it come to that.

Nothing you couldn't reverse, Miles. Keep all of the original bits and refit if you decide to sell and buyers want an original car.

I therefore recommend Approach B - "it is far easier to seek forgiveness than permission" It's worked for me many a time!
