My XJ was a 3.0 V6 TT....what was a 2.7....that was previous gen wasn't it? Or us that what you are thinking?
2.7 TT alloy bodied from 2003
3.0 TT (new shape) from 2010 origional was 6speed auto now 8 speed -
There is nothing on the market that matches the Jag for “bang for bucks” or “I have arrived” appeal and if anyone tells me it’s an old mans car - I have drag raced my 3.0 TT against V8 Mustangs and they were the ones worried - 0- 60 is just a tad under 6secs and it puts the power down better and more predictably than the GTS.

Keep the E class.....

Another E Class is a possibility. I'm thinking of changing as I've done almost 60k in mine and I'm approaching 100k in it.
Figured I'd change it before 100k as I'd like a change. I've had the E Class longer than any car I've ever had. Almost 3 years!

Having driven the newer E class, the car is a big improvement on the W212 that I have, more power, 9 gears, better infotainment system smoother engine.

I'm undecided hence the request for ideas.

I've a little bit of time as I'll look to change in October/November.

Don't take this the wrong, way, Phil but, really? You have a list of people you ignore?

Yes there is a new function on here as Pointed out by Matt. I spend so much time dealing with people on a daily basis that I just don’t see the point in letting them get me down and it makes life so much easier. I’ve had a tough time of late with work and getting the business going that I just don’t need to deal with any more hassle.

Don't log on here then if you want less hassle.

The moral of the story is be rubbish....much less hassle. As soon as you're good at something & useful.....every man, women, child & dog wants a piece of you.

It pays the bills I guess which is useful until they stop.....stop please....please make them stop.

Jeez Phil, lay off the coffee mate, you seem very irritated of late. Just calm down a bit.

The thread started with opinions on SLK's but am open to suggestions. Hence the other posts.
For the record. I won't be buying and MX5.
Only on SM can there be a heated argument which shifts from an S class to a Boxster! I love it. Totally with you Mark. I am looking for a daily and really cant decide. So many cars out there and so many boxes to tick.

I had a 2018 E class when my 458 went in for some work, and I have to say I was sad when I gave it back. Such good tech and amazingly comfy and easy to drive for a big car. I must be getting old...

You have choices: 1. Step down as moderator. 2. Don't log on. 3. Bite your lip and resist the urge to comment on anyone's post whose view doesn't match yours. 4. If business is a hassle, nobody can help you. How is that relevant to style and content in this forum is a question that springs to mind. 5. Keep adding more people to your ignore list and carry on as before.

Have you been coaching everyone at my work?! ;)
LOL...I've given up coaching....I remember going through so many people years ago as Service Manager of an Apple dealership...Field Engineers came & went like no tomorrow. The old adage of not being able to polish a turd certainly did ring true in many cases there.
