New Caliper or repairable?

Last year when taking the car apart a few things went wrong, one being the nipple snapping off in the caliper, see photo, anyone had similar experience and been able to salvage it or is this a chuck it in a bin moment? I've been trying to extract but I think its probably a drill it out job? Any suggestions welcome.

There are repair kits available, you end up drilling it larger, tapping and putting a larger bleed nipple in there.

Looking at yours though, I’d be tempted to try and weld a nut to the top of it first, if you have one that is.

I have a nut and a MIG welder.... but not that confident with it, I guess this might be a good thing to practise on, if it goes pear shaped I can always get another caliper from fleabay I guess....

Set it high and get the torch right into the nut. The heat will probably get it loose too. Let it cool a bit before you try and unwind it.

I should add that looking again, it’s the brake pipe that’s snapped. So ignore what I said about the nipple repair kits.

Where are you? We get these from time to time. Weld a blob on top (TIG preferred) slip a nut over the blob and weld in place. Turn carefully. Those LH taps will break - guaranteed and leave you a bigger problem. If weld shears then what is left is soft to drill carefully (tight hold) and pick out threads. If drilling damages thread then drill and re-tap for a helicoil avoiding the pipe seating at the base

As some have said - I took mine to local metalwork guy (fabricates parts for classic bikes) and he TIG'd a bolt on and came straight out
