Hi to all, I acquired N9FBN a 2000my 3200GT in April 2015. I'm guessing the car is likely to be known to a few on here as it arrived to me after many short ownerships as owner after owner failed to resolve its issues. I took it to Mike Roberts who fitted a new throttle pedal FBW potentiometer, replaced the cambelt and pulley set and serviced the motor. Unfortunately the engine wasn't running properly, the idle speed was too high and 'hunting' between 13 and 1500rpm. I did a few miles as Mike recommended....nothing changed. I found the car 'pushing on' and so too dangerous to drive. A month or so ago David Askew was recommended to me and short phone call enough to give me confidence that he might know what the problem was. I sent the throttle body to him, it was upgraded to contactless (I had thought Mike Roberts had done that already!) and returned to me fully tested, David even supplied a good used OE loom connector to allow me to undo a historic 'botch' Now refitted the car drives 'properly' A big thank you goes to David.
N9FBN now has a recovered dash top (courtesy of AS Pickering, Bradford), its had an interior strip and refurb including all the sticky crud removed from all switchgear and trim. A poor gear change related to a squidgy and variable 'feel' clutch pedal proved to be caused by a degraded rubber bush on the slave cylinder pushrod...an inexpensive if not so easy to action fix. I still have a few minor jobs to do so on here for tips....
Now taxed and tested and luckily there's still time for fun before winter. Tally ho!
