Hello everyone!

After a lot of deliberation I've decided its time i had a Maserati. I'm looking at getting a Quattroporte V, maybe a Sport GT if funds allow. I tested one last weekend and although that particular car was a dog I decided I want one.

Most cars i've had so far have been Audis. S3, S4, and a couple or RS4s. A B5 RS4 with 600bhp and a standard B7. I'm looking for something a bit different, something that you don't see everyday.

I understand the stigma of unreliability that comes with Maserati but i'm pretty handy and should be able to sort most things myself. Im just looking to get some more information and some advice with buying a QP

Cheers

Welcome Ryan.

The QP is quite robust and little of the 'old' reliability questions that dogged the brand in the 80s and 90s remain.

Used to live in Oxenholme myself some years ago and still bring my coupes up there for holidays.

Hello Ryan!

My advice would be to go and buy one!

I'm sure others will direct you to the more particular advice on a QP soon enough.

Oh yeah I'm on the west Coast about an hour away from oxenholme.

@mrpea good advice I fully intend on doing so.
Are there any QPs for sale on the forum? I will check out the classifieds

So the big question you will need to ask yourself is Duo select or ZF gear box...
Best looking car on the planet (IMHO!)

Hi Ryan

Welcome to the site, what ever you choose you will be in good company here. My previous cars were 2 Audi S4 cabs, both fantastic cars to drive, but like you I was again seduced by the dark side and came back to Italy!
I bought a Mazzer because they have more personality, presence and rarity..............And the noise!!......... Not as in-your-face as a Fezza or a Lambo (which I like).
Do I miss my S4? (yes) Do I regret changing it for the Mazzer (no).

Good luck with which ever model you decide to go for.

I too came from a strong Audi stable (including RS4), Mazzers are just in a different league of respect and admiration from onlookers. I agree the Germanic precision and gadgets are no where to be found and occasionally I do miss them, also even the 4.7 GTS isn't as quick as loads of "lesser" cars out there, but I wouldn't change it now!
Take the plunge - you'll never look back

Same as me mate, came from may RS cars and M cars to the Trident fold. If you liked the 600 bhp B5 then you will love a 3200. The QP is also an awesome bit of kit too in the GTS form and will make you smile lots :D

Drive them all Ryan and see what you like best.
