New to the GS and still getting used to the foibles.....

So key in, press the starter, various noises from the Becker and then after about 5 or so seconds,.. 5 beeps.

Am I right to assume this is the car telling me that the Cobra Navtrak isn't activated?

Thanks in advance,

Em.

It's NAVTRAK and it means the device can't find the fob..... But only when you have a subscription

When it finds the fob & you have a subscription you get 3 beeps.

Also when you turn off you will hear beeps if you don't leave it in gear

Perfect, that confirms it. Thanks for that Pete. Still un-decided about the subscription as it makes booger all difference to my insurance, so it's simply down to the risk of theft. Hmmmm? Had it for a year on my 4200 and I only justified the cost by deliberately and regularly leaving without the fob to see how long it was before the call. Great fun. :D To be fair, they were always on the ball.

Regards, Em.

I decided not to renew this year, as I didn't get much of the insurance, and I'm not sure I would want it back if someone stole it.

Really? That's bizarre. So the Quicktrak is designed to shut the windows when alerted?

I have to have Navtrack for the insurance, and having had a car nicked I'm happy to pay the sub if only for the hope that it's found with the ****** still in it and they then nick him. Likewise, not sure if I'd want it back, but again seeing as I now have 2 non fault claims (the theft and the deer inccident) on my "record" and will get shafted when I come to renew next month, getting the car back would have reduced how much I'm going to get hammered by.

I guess it's like all insurance; a waste of money until you need it.

I believe the Google-police require you to describe the thieving sh1tbag of a motherf***ing t**ting low-life sc*mbag as a miscreant. :jptongue:

Haha, to be honest I've always considered thieving scumb@gs as cunning, and indeed often going about their business simply as a stunt to impress their imbesilic low-life homies. You gotta love spoonerisms.. way beyond the internet creative language gestapo.

Never thought about this but here's the situatution. I imported my car from UK to Oz and the car has Navtrak fitted and I have a fob attached to each key (in a very nice blue leather Maranello pouch I might add). Obviously the subscription was cancelled by the previous owner so am I just carting around fobs attached to keys for no good reason or do they still serve some purpose?
Thanks
Geoff

Absolutely Geoff, they make your keys heavier and less difficult to loose. :D

Thanks Miles, they are definitely not easy to lose with those things attached....I kind of like the fact that they attract attention in those lovely blue leather pouches. Might takethefobs out and leave the pouches attached.

Could be that it's not a real word but slang? Do you mean scrotum? ;-) (waiting to see if the anatomically correct word is acceptable)

Cheers
