Hi my name is Rob just aquired a lovely 2002 manual 4200 coupe, I come from an engineering background and no stranger to rebuilding cars or engines but it seems that there is no where to find any information regarding the Masarati 4200,
Does anyone know where apart from the Owners Manual I could find any information regarding this car?
Regards Rob

Welcome!

There is a rather truncated service manual available for free download if you search. Don't pay for it!

Full ones are a bit tricky, but ask on here, you may well find someone can answer for you!

Hi it's a Dark Silver with a Burgundy interior 38000 miles 2 owners from new the last one 11 years history file like you would not believe,
Runs really nice but has a noise that sounds like a dry pulley wheel that I need to investigate. Got it 2 weeks ago part chopped our 350 SL nice car but just lacked soul on mountain passes so looking forward to taking this one over.
See you have a Midget! I had 2 a 65 rot box and a 66 the 65 came in handy for spares the 66 went from a 998 cc to a 1275 then rebuilt it to 1340cc full race including a polished and ported Cooper S head with big valves 544 cam Lotus flat top Power Max pistons, twin 1 1/2 SU cars and a lightened and blanced fly wheel and a 3.9 diff 135 bhp on a rolling road it would beet anything up to 100 mph from stand still but didn't know the tru top speed as the speedo cable would snap at that speed. Tried fitting a B speedo but same problem. It would leave BGT V8's and 3 Litre Capri's for dead. Ended up with a BGT V8 after a full race 2 litre Roadster lol. Now hit the Italian motors Got a 72 Alfa Spider 2000 Veloce Had a 3.2 V6 Q4 Alfa Spider that was nice but more expensive than this Mazza to run had a Fiat Barchetta now this one had it two weeks and still smiling.

Yes I still have that. Very unusual for me but I've had that a good few years now. It's outlasted a large number of other newer, faster and much more expensive cars. It costs me next to nothing and I get so much enjoyment from it, more than any other car, dare I say more than the Maserati too :)

Many thanks let's hope so I think I got it for the right price but needs a few bob spending on it just had new brakes on the rear hand brake works now and think it might need a clutch soon but it got an irritating jingle that sounds like a dry bearing from the rear of the engine will keep you informed of what I find.
