North of Scotland

So, looking to get into Maserati ownership, and I seem to have boxed off most things so far.

The one I’m struggling with is for things like servicing (&repairs) in the north of Scotland.

Are there any forum members in the north (I.e north of Perth) - and how do you get your repairs/servicing done?

Is it a case of gray Paul in Edinburgh, or could any competent garage do the work?

Any input greatly appreciated

Ali

Hi and welcome :) I used to use PK, but they are only doing sales and storage now.
I have heard good things about David Phillips Autos, and was going to try them at some point, (Edinburgh.) There is also Steward Roden Motors, again in Edinburgh, and as you mentioned Graypauls, who I used for parts as there prices proved very competitive. A decent independent garage specialising performance cars should manage most things other than those that require the diagnostic machine, so I would look to those near for normal stuff and then travel for more specialised jobs.

Hi Ali and welcome,

Where are you based? A few of us around Aberdeenshire and south of Inverness and a couple in Dundee.
I have, in the past taken my car to PK Supercars inEdinburgh but they have now stopped servicing cars. There is a thread somewhere on the forum that asks the same question and somebody suggested an independent somewhere in Edinburgh that services and trades in performance cars. I can’t recall off the top of my head. Somebody else on the forum will be along with a name shortly I’m sure.

Hi Ali welcome aboard. I'm one if the two based in Dundee, but as I maintain my car myself I can't give you the advice you require.

Thanks everyone.

I’m just north of Inverness, but travel quite a bit - so less concerned about servicing (I can easily go to Edinburgh for that), it’s more if it needs repairs etc.

Of interest, in doing a quick browse I see that a new garage trading on the site of PK Supercars has popped up. http://www.eastcoastsportscars.com/ From the sound of it I guess it’s mechanics from PK. Anybody used them to date or know anything about them? Could be useful.

As others have said. I wouldn't hesitate to use a highly recommended indie who's local to you, for run of the mill servicing. Providing they do a good throughput of comparable cars.
What I save in extortionate main dealer labour rates and sometimes poor customer service, I put into my car as precautionary maintenance and bodywork etc

Hi and welcome.
Highlander and myself are North of Inverness.
I got rid of my 4200 and didn't replace it with another mainly because of the problem of being 200 miles from the nearest dealer/Indie.
Only one I know of is Stewart Roden who Allan mentioned who has a good reputation with the prancing horse but someone told me he wasnt keen on Maserati servicing but that might be nonsense. He is good but not cheap. Depending on which car you are buying you may need a garage with an SD2/3 machine and that is the major hurdle. Pre 3200 models can be serviced by your local garage.
You have a pm. ;-)

Welcome. Depends on the age of the car as a main dealer will struggle to cope with anything older than a GranTurismo/QPV. Graypaul have been fine for me and remember that there is a main agent in Hamilton as well now. For many things a good local garage can help so I would not let distance put you off and the cars from GT/QPV facelift on are on two year service intervals.

What are you looking at?

Cool, great cars. I have the S auto, others have the MC Shift, both brilliant just get the one that suits your preference.

There was one a black one (S MC Shift) for sale in Aberdeenshire a few weeks ago on AT.
