Have just purchased a 2015 ghibli petrol , want to do an oil service asap , i know the spec is supposed to be 5w40 but some are saying they use 10w60 ! I don't want to get into a debate about it , id just like clarity, i used to run a twin turbo V6 nissans back in the day and always used 10w60 instead of the factory spec , id appreciate your thoughts folks
Thanks
Simon

I’ve been using Shell Ultra 5W 40 mainly as it’s occasionally cheaper than HX8.

The messing with oil grades seems to be an American thing.

The number of posts of what the 'best' oil is. As well as "I change mine after every drive, and it's always black"

Just boggles the mind. Though TBF Maserati did change the spec on (from memory) the 2016s and on....

Mine is a late 2017, new screen, but not new gearstick, and the higher output, manual still states 5w40, I do oil every 6000 myself, in between a specialist doing it every 12,000.

May have been the 2018 then, it's one of those things that I know, but don't really care about as it doesn't apply to me, if that makes sense :)
