On holiday in France. Just drove over a lethal raised metal gate stop. Leaking now!

2006 QP auto. About 2 hours ago we arrived at our rented house near Toulouse. The pair of entrance gates were open and I didn’t see the raised metal central gate stop, which I drove over. 2 loud metallic clunks under the centre of the car. I looked underneath and noticed a steady dripping. I’m hoping it’s the air con drain as it’s been really hot and the aircon has been on constantly for the last 2 days.

The liquid is hot water, without any colour, which I guess is good. I put a open small water bottles catch the liquid and to see how much was leaking. Here’s a photo of the bottle with about 2-3cm of water in it after about an hour. Can anyone reassure me please?AA562C1A-D0E0-4774-8B1D-EC574B080CE6.jpeg

Well that's about where your A/C drain would be. Coolant is coloured and tastes yuk, oil is quite easy to identify. And exhausts make lots of noise when going over gate stops, or at least mine does.

Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. However, if you’re not, don’t quote me.
Funnee. Also don't forget to recover the bottle as the sound of crunching glass is also a cause for concern.

Clear watery liquid will be just ac condensation drain.
Those gate stops are nasty, my friend who has a V12 DB7 damaged the underside of his car the first time he visited his parents!

I’d be more worried about the white pants than what’s dripping out of your car! :p

That is exactly where the ac drain is, front of the transmission tunnel. Keep an eye on the coolant level and you should be ok. Coolant, as well as coloured is very sweet so if it tasted of nothing your in the clear. Phew!
