hi

Occasionally when the flap opens, the little black plastic latch to the left of the filler stays too far in and I have been using the key to pull it out.

Ive tried a little light oil on it, but today it went a long way back in and took some small sharp screwdrivers to pry it out.

I presume if its failing it will fail in the open position? im just a bit reluctant to pull the latch out and then find it wont open.

anyone any idea on cost and how to replace it?

The gaffer tape on the outside isnt a good look :)

cheers

You can buy the unit for the fuel flap/boot open buttons. I suggest you change this sooner rather than later. The boot button tends to go as well when the fuel flap does. Not being able to close your boot is not a good look!

Hi
The switch seems to work fine, is it not the latch itself that is faulty ?

The actual latch plunger (the black plastic bit) should be spring loaded. For mine when I open the filler cover with the button in the glove compartment, once open I can push the plunger in with my finger and it springs back. Do you not have this spring return then Paul?

Hi emtee

That's the problem, it doesn't spring back every time.
So time for a new one I think.
Easy to fit or off to Marios ?

Ah, could be a broken spring I guess then. Do you still get the electronic click when you press the button in the glove box? If yes at least the unit is still responding.

You can get at it if you take the boot side liner out (this is also where the manual release cable is) but if you can't be bothered with the grazed knuckles, then yes just get Marios on the case. The unit is £25.00, so at least not too expensive to fix.
