Im undecided how to make good as Id like to avoid fixing it in such a way as it can never be removed again...!

I was speaking to a company in Cheshire who said he is up for the challenge but would prefer to have a manual 4200 in his workshop to take accurate measurements off... Only person I know that way with a manual is @Vampyrebat

Hi Mike, no. But the 4200 CC did have it's own particular attributes, eg, it was lowered to GS spec and had sports cats and back boxes by Larini, plus a GS steering wheel. Lovely!
