My plastic cd cover has shattered into pieces a week ago I must have put too much pressure on it ....turned out to be extremely fragile part... does anybody know where to source these at the reasonable price? I do see multiple offerings at $200 and up but are there any cheaper alternatives? or would anybody have one for sale?

alternatively, does anybody have a file for 3-D printing of these?

thanks! Alex

Alex did you get anywhere with this? I've just taken mine off to find it's broken in a few places.

I've removed the nit as I've found corrosion to the front where liquid has obviously got in.

Considering best options moving forward.

Of old, no. Stupidly expensive, very fragile and no alternatives.

This may have changed since I owned my 4200 but...

The plastic mounting points where it screws to the NIT have cracked off both sides, so even if i reinstall the NIT, it won't be properly secure and it's got a crack to the top aswell.

Just been inspecting the corrosion to the NIT, it's rusted out one of the circuit board mounting screws and slowly spread out.20230606_200929.jpg

Somebody spilled a drink or something me thinks.

Only a matter of time before I started having problems with it, so I'm glad I've gone looking lol

All this to get trim hydrodipped lol

This is all I've found so far.

I've cleaned off alot of the corrosion and connected up the NIT again. I'm using superglue on the plastic cover as a temporary fix.

I wanted to hydrodip it, but obviously no point when it's broken.

So after much searching and a chat with 2 3d printing companies, I've taken a gamble with what I believe to be a 3d print off ebay for around £167 posted.

3d printing myself was going to work out more expensive and the genuine items on ebay are just extortionate.

Will post pics when I receive it.

Part has arrived from ebay, looks excellent, just like OEM, 3d printing is incredible. Unfortunately the internal corner of where the sim card or whatever it was slotted in, has snapped, so I've glued that, but nobody will ever see it, and ultimately I'm removing the NIT anyway at some point.

I'll post pics later.
