A design disaster compared to the older model. I think they've killed the QP again. Funny how they do that every so often!

They don't list a diesel on the Maserati website?

At the end of the day if you don't want a diesel, buy the petrol, the choice is there so I don't see the problem.

QP has never really been a car for me, sure its pretty but I buy the driver focused Maseratis not the limos.

Do Jag/Merc/BMW do a diesel version of their executive cars, I suspect the answer is yes so again don't see the issue.

Its not the diesel that's an issue for me Matt - That's just the way forward no matter what we think..For me it's the way the thing looks.......Not a nice design for a car that has for the last 10 years been the prettiest 4 door car money can buy.

The design is not for me either, looks sleek but not stand out enough for me, but as I said earlier, its not a car for me anyway.

I am hoping that the design ethos behind the concept Alfieri will work their way through to the current gen QPs and Ghiblis as part of the facelifts in 4-5 years time. Even if they launch something like the Alfieri as a GrandSport or GranTurismo replacement, the reputation of the brand for design/class excellence will be diminished otherwise.

I said many months ago and hold my position that Maserati missed a very, very big trick in not differentiating the QP/Ghibli more with an untouchable design - that would have more than made up for other aspects of competition where these cars are, frankly, still a few years behind i.e. technology, performance and dealership access/capacity. They went for design conformity in trying to increase mass market appeal when they should have been going for greater design differentiation.
