Are they a supercar...That is a question that has been asked many times...400bhp is no longer reserved for the elite......AMG's, BMW M cars to name a few have more power..in a fact Fords hot hatch has 350ps......so I suppose it depends on what you think makes a supercar........Is a QP a supercar.........well it has a Ferrari derived engine......does that make it a supercar.........arguably probably not.......best looking 4 door saloon money can buy.......with out a shadow of doubt.

Ok they may not be a traditional supercar but their rarity makes them special

I don't see any Mercedes as special, especially since they watered down the AMG badge by putting it on 1/2 of the range

I did not allude to the fact that Merc were, but I am going to need a new(er) daily soon, was considering a QP because as Andy says about how it looks but I am certainly not keen on picking up the tab to do variators etc etc, and as I may be doing up to 18k a year I may on balance lease,
Just seen a pretty good deal on a Kia Sportage,1500 down, 168 a month(inc vat) 20k miles - nothing flash but for getting from A to B and it has all the extras!!!

You'd be putting a seroius amount of petrol in a QP for 18k a year, it'd be a nice place to be but I agree a brand new car for £50 a week , that'd be less than the fuel you'd put in a 10 year old QP which makes a lot of sense

Yep - exactly - can even get an Audi TT for daft money now as well - but...... I need something I can get my bike in the back off - another black mark for the QP. Ideally I would get a van but her indoors had a face like a slapped £$%e and they are not cheap!!!

I've just bought an 11 plate Skoda yeti 2.0 diesel and I really like it , it's the 110 BP model, great on fuel, comfortable, nice drive and all the back seats either fold down or can be removed completely.

Good spec, climate, cruise, reversing sensors, Mrs Wack loves it

Yeah - I asked about it before - Its one to look at - Will get a bit more serious about it when I get back from Goa in March, TBH I am not that fussed - I will run the Passat til it dies but wife isn't happy about the travelling etc in an older car!!!

My wife had only ever driven normal cars, when I bought the Impreza I was fully expecting to be pulling it out of a shop window within a week but she managed it OK.

When I get a QP there's no way on earth she'll be driving it , in any case she's already liking the idea of being chauffeured about in a posh car

Haha! Mine took the 3200 into her work a few times. I think she loved hearing the "There's a Maserati in the car park" office gossip. Then someone would casually mention oh yeah that's Pams! lol

LOL She is on the insurance - refuses to drive it !!!!

Mrs SP wont drive my 4200 either. She has driven it once on an industrial estate late evening and not driven it since. If were going anywhere far and its all five of us then I have to driver her German soot chucking box instead.

It always amazes me how somebody driving a £17,000 focus thinks you're minted because of a badge, when I had the XK8 it put a few noses out of joint at work until I told them it cost me £4,000, they all thought it was 25k worth of car

I can easily see how somebody might hink you're driving 40k worth of Maserati

Just smile and say nowt! ;)

Haha - So true - I never told anyone at work, then one day I was out the front cleaning it and my bosses boss walked passed with their sh!tt!ng machine. He looked at the car but did not recognise me, (covies, wooly hat etc). On monday I asked him if he enjoyed his walk on the beach, he asked how I knew, I said I was outside cleaning my car, at that point his gob fell open until he got the words out " Was that your Maserati??" - I spent all week fielding conversations along the line, "Is it true you have a Maserati ?"

Lets say I had my 15 minutes - when I left on Friday there was still people saying you have never brought that car to work - not likely - Its a chemical plant chucking all sorts of **** in the air!!!!
