The one on Collecting Cars does look nice but I agree about online auctions at the moment.

I recently followed a 2002 Alfa GTV Cup on an auction site which was, perhaps, worth £15k. However, it went for nearly £19k! It was due timing belt and god knows what else but someone paid top dollar as if it was a fully sorted retail car.

On red Alfas, a £900 cambelt change is probably cheaper than repainting a pink one... if it’s a Cup, an unblemished front spoiler is worth its weight in gold...

As much as I love the Cup’s looks, the nicest non Cup I’ve seen in red over tan leather is £13k (email me if interested) and seems better value.

When will you be upgrading?
With the amount I've spent on the car, it's practically new! So not anytime soon! However have hankered after a mesh grill in the past but it tends to be a bit too transaparent, and what's behind is not very beautiful.

The QP S on collecting cars is at £15k with an hour to go

What do we think it will end at ?

Anyone bidding ?

Not for me - too black.

Plenty of bids. Maybe £19,500?

Says sold for 18k on the site. Plus 6% I suppose.
Ah, right. When I looked, it said 'auction finished' at 17 bids and £16k. Now says 21 bids and £18k. Might be due to the system where you can keep bidding after the end to stop last-minute sniping.

my Sport GT has chrome mesh which I prep of them all. The ugliness visible behind the grille is easily fixed. Single can of satin matt black will make it all disappear. Even easier if you are already pulling the original grille. Get new fasteners - mine still irk me with corroded heads. And they are awkward torx fitting. Maybe get a long handled tool if you stay OEM.

Agree, or 2nd round of suspenson/brakes and variators are ok... Nice model if it is good.

strangely this QPV 4.7S did not make the usual retail price at auction! Did not even break £10k!
an exception that proves the rule or was there something wrong?
