People may recall that for the past two years we have run the above event and are repeating it again this year on Sunday the 14th August. Last year we had over 30 Maseratis being one of the biggest gatherings ever in Scotland. We would hope to exceed that figure this year.

Even if you are not bringing your maserati, if you have an italian car or bike OF ANY TYPE and want to come along, then please do so. It doesn't have to be concours or a rarity. The whole point of the event is to get together with like minded people and enjoy the cars and bikes in a beautiful venue. Last year we had 330 cars and bikes, ranging form A Zonda to a Lambretta. They are all equally welcome. You don't need to pre register but would be beneficial to let us know your coming. You must be on site to display by 9.30am

Details of the event and updates can be found on the web site:

http://www.italiancarandbikeday.co.uk

Videos of the last two events can be found at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZbnTbNNyhM for 2010
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UcN31RrDzk for 2009

Pistonheads people or others driving interesting non Italian cars and bikes will have their own parking area. Last year we had a very interesting alternative car park and significant support with about 1500 visitors.

Just bumping this one.

Anyone other than Jim & myself attending? Cow Surgeon came last year but he has been quiet on the forum lately.

It was a great day out

Hey George; it would be great to see you there...

There's no format really; everybody rolls in, there is a preferred arrival time and if you're a bit late you have to negotiate the crowds to find a space with the 'family. The at some point in the afternoon there's an award given for a the best car and bike in show I think (if my memory serves me correctly) and that's it.

It's quite a social occasion and sees a significant turnout of hardware; the best I've seen actually (and I attended Stanford Hall this year)

the video shortcuts at the start of this thread do the event good justice I think...

Have been off on a circuit of Ireland. 1200 miles and didn't miss a beat. Now living back in Ireland so alas won't be making Hopetoun.

Enjoy, it is a great day out.

Cheers

Hey Andrew,

I would think Tundra Verde would be there although Danny no longer owns his GT but regularly attends such events. I haven't seen him for a while but I'm sure he's reading this!!

hi guys
shaping up quite nicely. Got a grandcab and tourismo coming along from Graypaul and lots of other nice stuff.
Hoping we can beat the 30 masers we had there last year

The concours is very informal. Last year the criteria was which car or bike would the judges most like to make babies with! Now been told that it isnt actually possible! What are those Ferrari guys doing around..... anyway I digress!
Hope to see as many of you as possible at the event.
Got some good catering coming and also the cafe opening at 9 rather than 10 this time
Is 3pm finish so a short day
Can pvt me or phone with any questions
Paul

sorry, I have just (this moment) been seconded into a mercy-mission tomorrow and at this point it looks like I won't be making it after all...
