Whats your option on service intervals? I know servicing is an important part of a cars maintenance but my car was last serviced 12 months ago but only 1700 miles covered since .The car is in good order other than a small oil leak, its 18 years old ,has a good service history but no receipts for any repair work , milage is too high for it to become a "valuable classic" in the future so will not servicing every year make a difference ? Im thinking of leaving it until next spring ready for the summer season ,mileage only likely to go up no more than 500 miles in that time as car not used in winter months.
your thoughts would be appreciated

I like to change the oil and filter every year, coolant every 3 years and changed gearbox oil once in five years and brake/clutch fluid once in five years of ownership.
I think your be fine waiting for Spring as you had a service 12 months ago and you’ve done very few miles.

If it's your car, and you intend to keep it, then I'd do oil filter services every year or so, and belts probably every 5 years, mileage dependant. If you intend to sell it then everyone will want it by the book!

I my opinion, for every penny you save not servicing the car, you loose the same amount if not more come resale.

I only did 84 miles last year, but still had a small annual service on the GS at Sports Italia, that followed one after c120 miles the year before...remember it's not just the service items, but checking for wear and the smaller items that if left will cost far more than an annual.
