Thanks highlander. I'm with you on aesthetics but Matt's price is very surprising for a Gtourismo. Way off making a knee jerk decision.

Anyone advise on the q's I raised?

Take your time, weigh up what you want the car for, what you want to pay, what you want to keep in the war chest, and what car colour/trim combination you would prefer. Try a few. Before I bought back the AC I was looking at Gransports, they are quite rare, lovely sports interior with or without tech cloth, personally I like the contrast of the cloth. Sills are a bit marmite. Plenty advice here, plus if a forum car or recommended dealer you should be trouble free. If your stretching the budget slightly then you also have Granturismos in sight, a lovely looking car, slightly too big for me, but lots for sale, but will they hold their value like a GS?

Well it might be your lucky day. Ok you will have to find yourself £3k but cars of this caliber don't come up very often. GranSports are increasing 10% per year at present and everyone one here will vouch for this motor

I bought a car from this bloke be careful.....

He is anorakly nerdy, removing seats to clean carpets I ask you? You would go a long way to find a better car in the private market place

Matts car is a Gransport but it is still a good price and a known well sorted car.

Exactly, with two houses up for sale, a home move, replacing aeroplanes, the last thing I want to do is knee jerk

Welcome to the mad house. Exciting time looking for your Maserati. You will know which one you will buy when you first see her. That connection of a long lasting relationship it will just click. It won't all be romance. These are highly strung Italian lady's when there moody spoil them they love it and you will have a big smile on your face when you go for a ride seriously mats car if I had some spare cash at the moment id sell mine and buy mats car. Just enjoy the looking and test drives. My only regret I never test driven the 3200 just to feel the twins kick in.

Hi Robin,
You've been given the main advice already. Make sure you enjoy looking and you will know the right one... what Steve GS said!
I'm in Oxford if you want to chat. Happy to meet if Oxford is easily convenient for you, although I have the Spyder rather than coupe so you may be better off being shown around the type you're looking at. Another really good option for you (unless you see THE car before then) would be to come to Ace for the next meet there... you'll see a fair few cars and plenty of nutters willing to bore you senseless with the vast conglomerate knowledge they corporately possess.
Enjoy the searching, and use it as an excuse to test other great cars while you're at it, even when you know you'll be going for a Trident!

Thank you Steve, very kind. Oxford is an easy distance from here, and I'll take up your offer soon

Thanks again

Ohhh Planes my second love...based at the Cotswolds Airport by chance?

Although Cotswold/Kemble is less than 5 miles away I'm based at Gloucestershire/Staverton. A busy airport, 3x2 RWY's, and proper ATC. Pop up sometime and we'll exchange spins.

Staverton Airport remember it well as had my teenage kicks in Gloucester.
Remember when they used to have full on motorcycle racing there back in the 70's.
