Hello everyone!
Up in Glasgow for wee conference but flying back to the cold South this evening. Might go dancing to unwind.
I've been all but silent on here for a while but thought I'd post again before seeing a load of you tomorrow.
Sorry to hear some of your various bad news... funerals, long term injuries etc. I've been keeping up with reading posts.
So what's been going on? The short answer is that mental illness can really really suck! Anxiety in my case and a totally unexpected side swipe of it for a couple of months now. So, if at the Christmas do I start zoning out, need to walk off or completely forget what I'm taking about mid conversation, that's what's going on. Pretty much no control over it!

Morning all,
School Christmas fair for me today, which means me running round all the stalls collecting money (as Mrs JonW is the Treasurer for the School Association).
Hope everyone has a fun weekend!
Also, hats off to MrPea. I've experienced mental illness, and I applaud and respect your openness. It took me a long time to be able to be so open, and I now do a bit of stuff trying to encourage others that discussing mental health should be no different to discussing our physical health...

Morning forum. Off to town today to the Cat Cafe. We might go to the Dickens Museum afterwards and grab some food. Should be pleasant.

Very sorry to read that, Stevie. Chronic anxiety is surprisingly common and is something I've had first hand experience of. Whilst it can be totally debilitating it's also very treatable. Let's have a chat later if you fancy it. Regardless, I look forward to seeing you.

Morning all (I’m claiming this because the server was down earlier) Another great SM Christmas bash! I stuck to G&T all night and it seemed to work well, no caffeine and a good deal of alcohol but no hangover till I got in the car with Jeanette driving the North Circular home when it started banging a bit!
Got home to a busted boiler! I knew someone had struck the flue with a lorry in the alleyway on Friday as the basket over it was all mangled! It seems that was the final thing that tipped the thermocouple to fail so no sustained pilot!
Well I’ve rebuilt the flue and straightened the cage, stripped and serviced the boiler and removed the stub of thermocouple, fire roaring in the living room it is for tonight and out to get a new one in the morning.
Have fun all...

Morning all, a cold house this morning and the kids are moaning; well they have no idea what being cold in bed is I say, I haven’t told them about Gavin ice on the blankets from your own breath, I’m sure that would invoke the ‘four Yorkshire men’ scetch again! So fixing the boiler first job of the day as soon as I can get the part.
