Morning, forum. This has not been a great evening. Mrs Catman is spending the night courtesy of the NHS and the biggest **** right off syringes of antibiotics and diuretics I have ever seen. Also additional taxpayer funded oxygen.
Still she is comfortable and in no immediate danger, but there are no spare beds, so she's in a beautifully appointed cubicle.

Dry January can **** right off right now as well. I need a scotch.

At least it's not her heart!

Chris hope Mrs C get well soon, no chance of dry Jan this year - might try Feb once everything has calmed down.

Morning all, WFH today

Thanks, everyone. According to the A+E nurse she's responding well and feels much better. When they get a bed for her I'll head up and see her

Hope Mrs C gets better soon Chris.

As for my day, it's going to be filled with more fun and games involved in setting up a company.
And also doing about 4 things at once.

Better crack on.

Morning everyone!
It sounds like my being off sick is nicely evading a storm in the office.
No fun for Mrs. C. Thoughts are with you all.
I ended up in out of hours yesterday. Finally have an insane dose of antibiotics for the tonsillitis which is, lo and behold, indeed bacterial. But that wasn't the reason for the appointment... that's 3 nights of horrific abdominal pain. The doc ruled out most of the bad stuff but I'm back waiting to see my gp to get checked out for kidney stones. Joy.
On the plus side, I do wonder that I'm starting to feel some benefit from the happy pills.

HapPea Monday!

A late good morning to all today; been up and at it since 06.00 but not stopped to peek on here until now! Finished making a pheasant stew for the hounds after taking a pint of stock from it to make the next game pie :) and it was so great smelling I turned around at one point to see both dogs and the cat in puddles of drool!!! That should keep them happy for a couple of days at least.

So sorry to hear about Mrs. Catman Chris, give her a gentle squeeze from us please...

Stevie, good to hear the medication is kicking in and you are avoiding the office antics.

I have to crack on and finish these ruddy ropes as I have spent far too long on them already.

Have fun all...

Hey Mr Pea sorry to read about possible Kidney stones. I am the worlds leading authority on them!
Mine started with all of the classic symptoms. A nagging pain at the base of my spine which slowly moves around to the front (sometimes can even go into the old Town Halls - mine did not thankfully). I felt sick 2 or 3 times en route to A&E but was not actually sick (very common apparently). Into A & E where they confirmed Kidney stones. X ray revealed they had ripped apart all my little tubes that are used when having a wee..
Morphine (horrible stuff) and an overnight stay then discharged. Went back for an after x ray and no further stones apparent.
Given a diet sheet which I try to follow but the key thing is Water. I have to drink between 4 and 6 pints of water a day which is not easy. I can drink other stuff too like alcohol but I must have the water. So I do a pint with Breakfast Dinner and Tea and top up throughout the day and the wee should be colourless. Apparently the chances of a Kidney stone is some thing like 1 in 200 but once you have passed them the chances of a recurrence drops to 1 in 3! I find that staggering.
Anyway I do the water thingy and so far so good (toilet visits increase!) but I will do that to avoid experiencing that pain of passing a small piece of gritty stuff through even smaller tubes which is the worse pain known to human kind including a woman giving birth!
Good luck

Afternoon..where did the morning go?

This is the first time I had a chance to stop and take breath.

Taxed and took the Strad out yesterday....firmly put the smile back on my face after all the stress thats going on in life at the moment. Need to do it more.

Morning, ladeeez and gentlemen.

Chris, very best to Mrs C. All things firmly crossed.

Had a good day out yesterday. Went to visit the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, which are about an hour from the centre of Mexico City. Very impressive, and good climbing in the quite-low oxygen at this altitude. Pleasantly aching legs this morning. The roads here are shite, though. No place for the kind of cars which we all get dribly about. Good eating, though.

Unfortunately a week of sodding hard work starts now. I should get up, chug coffee and get to it.

Morning, forum.

Off to the office today. Seems like a very long time since I've been there! Mrs C much improved, thanks for all your wishes.

Have a great day, all
