Hi All
thanks for the tips on my 3200 so far. Ive had my 3200 for a month now and in the last 3 days before I took it for servicing, I had an issue where the car would start revving excessively at traffic lights forcing me to turn off the engine (this happened repetitively over 3 days). I would then turn it back on and it would be fine for another few minutes before it starts happening again. I took it to the maserati shed and Mike found no fault in the throttle pot and throttle body at the time. He even took the car for a test drive and it didnt happen again even with the engine red hot. Im not quite sure what conditions created the problem and Mike is confident he can diagnose the problem if the conditions that made the car rev excessively were recreated. Im not sure what the condition was other than the fact that I took the car on a steady 35 min motorway drive before it started happening. Any ideas? or should the fact that it hasnt happened since be reassuring? (its been driven twice for around 15 minutes and the issue hasnt occurred again since)
Thanks!

Battery would be worth a check and also pedal travel. Next time it happens get your foot under the accelerator pedal and lift it upwards to see if the revs drop. I've seen other cars with the same problem recently.

It has a BBA reman throttle body and a contactless throttle pot from here which is about 500 miles old, I lay my bets on the throttle body personally

I've had to add some additional spring tension to my contactless pedal pot, I was experiencing the same symptoms. This appears to have cured my problem with the return now. Worth looking into
