Does anyone have, or know where i can buy a second hand rear shock (part number 197912 ) for 2004, 4200?
I can find good second had ones for every other part number apart for mine .
Iv tried Stuart and David Askew with no joy .

My actuator is playing up so might aswell just change the whole unit , IF i can find one .

There are some from Australia and the States on line, but someone must have one in this country surely ?

The 3200 are different to the 4200 Skyhook set-up.
Greg at Premier Performance Car Parts was rebuilding them.

I have the same problem, 197912 on mine, cant find one anywhere, stuart has let me have one with a different part no as a stop gap, think they are basically all the same, just different part no's, Oh and your wasting your time with Bilstein Martyn, they are made by Sachs.

Try my mate Phil from Birkenhead, he has a business building/fixing Massers! If he doesn't have one then he may well be able to refurb yours.
Phil 07541812171..........Tel him Stu gave you his number.

No, first symptom was warning light on dash, and car noticeably dropped on rear offside, then after stopping would go back to normal, then after carrying on there was an almighty banging from rear, frightened the s*I* out of me, thought I was going to see a trail of bits behind me. Hasn't done that since, but does the dropping on the rear and warning light regularly.

Well mine makes a rattling sound from the rear shock ,and vibrates if you put your hand on the top of it . Its never dopped . I had the codes read and it said that the front right valve was nt working ??? Work that one out ? Any ideas anyone ?

Well i got to the bottom of the error on the front right shock not working . The connector had come out . Plugged it back in fault gone. Not often a fault is that easy ! Result ! :thumb: . The rear is still buzzing though . Not result ! :Suicide:

Unplug the rear! Buzzing will stop and light will come back on. Normal running resumed :)

seriously though, if it like the later QP unit, there might be an adapted to fool the ECU into thinking all is okay. If it is just the Sport mode at fault. Would buy you some time to source one.
Found a used on for the QP instead of 1000 new. If that hadn't turned up I would have gone for a pair of aftermarket coil overs and dummy plugs for the sensors. The QP rides much better on risiign rate springs (as used on Sport GTS) instead of skyhook.
