Water Radiator wanted

Any body got a water radiator for sale - preferably one that does not leak and is not dented, unlike the one I bought and just unwrapped today from DVB.
Mind you I have not spoken to them about it so wont pass judgement - it was well wrapped but I cant fit this, the hoses would never seal and as for the dent in the matrix - big risk and several hours work

Sorry RSM, don't have one...
Hopefully DVB will make this good for you though...
I take it you did not know you were buying it damaged, therefore it is not fit for purpose in my book,
and would be asking for a full refund or replacement.
Regards,
Enzo.

For £350 I would expect a bit of wear and tear, but your right this one is no good, DVB have a good name so I am pretty confident on a refund or better still a replacement - it was still on the car when I phoned them, if I had known about the dents regardless of passing a pressure test I would have said no.

You could get a good quality recore for a fair bit less than that! There's a reasonable further cost (or time) in fitting, so would be a pain to fit something that wont last!

Why not look in the phone book and find a radiator specialist and get yours recored.
We have some good ones around Bristol and a lot cheaper than you think tested and guaranteed.

DVB Called today and will send courier to collect, very apologetic, they will refund full cost so faith restored.

Aaron Radiators will recore my existing rad, note sure on price but certainly nowhere near price of a new one, I have used them before and been very satisfied, they are based in Crystal Palace, dropoff on Monday collect on Friday

Thanks for the idea - never thought of it!

interested to know how your recore goes.
Any chance you can take before and after pictures, and post the price?

Hello,

Apologies, i have only just seen this thread. I didn't get a PM, but would be happy to quote for a new rad anyway, even if just out of curiosity.....

Cant tell from the photos, is that 3200 or 4200?

Cheers Alan.

When you get your rad re cored, get them to strengthen the top and bottom pipe flanges where the meet the rad, they crack and most will leak from here before the core goes.

New, the 3200 radiator is £555 inc vat.

I could do a price of £465 inc vat and delivery for members of this forum.

Still not anywhere near the price of a re-core though!

The recores are not cheap, remember I got a quote of £250 to have it done my the local man who had been there years. They have twin cores and are a very old fashion layout and design. At £465 new, I would be tempted as that is not a bad price.

Its an excellant price - solves all sorts of problems, like no car for 2 weekends! its too wet for motorbike and BMW is off the road, so it would be wifes Mini or daughters Astra! not quite the same

Happy to take pictures and do a how too....I have no formal motor vehicle qualifications but have always had expensive cars (old ones that broke down!) so had to learn how to do the jobs myself
