As titled, does anyone know the weight of OEM brake discs? Granturismo, 4.7 GTS. Thanks!

About 20kg, from memory. Hang on, I’ll try and find out for sure.

edit. Struggling for an exact answer. My FD ones are 2lb lighter than standard and I’m pretty sure they weighted in at about 22kg when I checked them in for the flight home from Vegas. They certainly felt about that weight. How accurate do you need?

I'm trying to decide on OEM (your estimate of 20KG) vs. Tarox one piece (circa 22.6KG pair) or two piece with an alu bell housing (20.5KG pair).

My God that's heavy, 80 kilos of unsprung weight, that's like having the fat lady sitting in the passenger seat before she starts singing..

The car on the left was 690 Kilos all in!

Thats the total weight for the pair. Sorry for any confusion.

That is good, thanks for the replies. The obvious choice from a weight saving POV is clearly the 2 piece items from Tarox, although there is very little in it!

Felonious Crud I'm intrigued on your FD discs, having called FD (as well as their UK supplier) who confirmed they only use OEM discs from Maserati i.e. they don't make their own.

These are the ones I’ve got. Cross-drilled and slotted, and definitely different from the OEM ones they replaced!

Yep those are the ones FD confirmed were OEM, I even questioned the website description and was told it was incorrect!

They look identical to OEM too, which I believe can come in cross drilled or drilled and grooved, Maserati part number 235318, wonder what you had fitted before?!

My previous ones were the originals. The difference with these is that they’re grooved as well as cross-drilled. I think the MC handling pack (or somesuch option) had the grooved disks, so maybe they’re the ones from that. Not sure how they claim a weight-saving compared to OEM, mind! In any case, they’re a whole lot cheaper than OEM.

This is a bizarre story, I just can't believe that FD discs are not their own.....strange.

Yep the MC handling pack discs are grooved as are the GT Sport ones. GTS are not.
