What’s this object for?

It’s on the top of the battery pos terminal board, doesn’t connect to anything doesn’t seem to have any point. Plus I can’t get on my new battery.

Have to say new battery has made car even better, can’t see how a battery can do that for general running, must have been the three days effectively with no battery, a super reset...

I presumed it was just an additional secure device (bit of placky!). Stopped any rotation and therefore reduced the chances of being worked loose over time - that was the only thing that crossed my mind anyway!

As Roger says it’s a securing device for the positive terminal module.

All the Alfa’s have them too. If the module was able to move up and down it would overtime cause the cable terminals to fail/snap
