Hi
I have what I think is a commom issue on our cars, a slight wobble of the rear wheels due to wear of the rear lower wishbone track rod ball joint.
The dealer option is to replace the whole wishbone which is a bit pricey.
Anyone ever solved the problem in another way? The picture above shows a solution available at superformance. I wonder if any of you ever tried it?

Thanks

Tiago

Sounds like an idea well worth considering, if the wishbone itself is in good nick, then why not..!!

There only £12 each including vat from any German F.A.G bearing supplier....thats a huge rip off!

Interesting! Is this a similar idea to the one mentioned in the Auto Italia Gransport buyers guide last month? Think it mentioned something that Bill McGrath had came up? Anyone any experience?

Might well be needing one. Just thinking ahead to my MOT, so I'll let everyone know if I do

Having said that, my rear tyres are very evenly worn right down to the wear marks, so I'm hoping suspension is all good :)

That's what would be interesting to know, if anyone has actually used this.
If it works well it is a huge saving against the cost of replacing the wishbones.
I was quoted 2600 euros for the wishbones, in parts alone!

No reason at all it shouldn't work.

I had the ball joint replaced at the end of one of my track control arms, which would also have required a new wishbone...

Thats the one £13 each...regards pressing them in and out of the wishbone you can use a normal bench vice with the appropriate sized socket!

SKF bearings have been around for years and are pretty good by all accounts, remember...Maserati do not make bearings..!!

This forum really is great :D
Think I will be ordering a pair of these bearings and have the mechanic install them at my next service!
