Unfortunaley thats not the case Frank, i wish , im leaning heavily on a valued opinion from someone far more knowledeable than me in this area, who frequents this forum but shall remain nameless for the time being ,
Obviously its all about price when going for a re-creation there are limitations to what you can do with it , as regards entering Club events etc, would that worry me on a sunny sunday afternoon driving through Buckinghamshire i dont think so, , putting 3-4k plus miles a year on it NO , will the maintenace be as high, NO so there is a positive side , but as all things its down to Wonga , and how much of it you might be prepared to lose ,
Whereas most genuine classics should appreciate in value if cared for and treated right, minimal miles and high maintenace , but still retaining there capital investment, after a few years, if you choose the right model that is
Really have to decide what i want out of it, some re-creations have gone up in value and by far the best and cheapest option is to commission one from scratch, tho its a lot of hard work , even starting from a rolling chassis with body , but i would enjoy the tinkering and organising of it ,
This particular car above is priced a bit high ( oh yeah just had the email come through ) but i will go an view it and make hopefully a not too insulting offer and see how i get on , its a learning curve who knows
