would it be wise to get the wheels laser aligned after this, if so anything I need to be telling the auto centre that will be doing alignment re tolerances etc?

Don't just get the wheels aligned - I'd suggest you go for a full geometry check and adjustment with a specialist who has a Hunter machine. Makes a world of difference, even if your settings are only very slightly out like my GS was.

You'll need lots of Maserati suspension shims of various sizes,as this is how the angles are altered

This is where it gets difficult!

The camber is adjusted by inserting shims in the bolting points of the lower suspension arms to the body. so to adjust this you need to loosen these mounting bolts (not always easy depending on when they were last removed if ever) and insert different shims until you get the setting you want. Measuring it just takes fancy equipment setting it is tricky. I believe the top ball joints on the front assembly also have funky shims, which are W shaped.

The company I use for alignment and geo adjustments always has shims. I doubt that the shims are exclusive to Maserati, so check with your garage to see what they hold in stock.

I got a bunch of shims from David Askew or Eurospares, they were cheap, its not a problem.
