Winter getaways...Canary Islands

Looking for somewhere to get away from things (family mainly) over Christmas...never been to the Canaries so thought we might try, does anyone have experience of them in December? Any other suggestions?

Went to Lanzarote over New Year with some friends a few years back and it was lovely. Rained a bit, but nothing that hampered the enjoyment of the island.

The scenery is beautiful and unique and if you're into art and architecture, the works of Cesar Manrique are quite stunning.

I'd happily go again over Christmas / New Year.

Can be very hit and miss Chris....knew a few people who went and got rain way worse than back home! How short notice can you book, if a few days out a a high sitting over it, go...........

I guess you can always be unlucky but a friend of mine keeps a place in Tenerife and swears it has perfect weather year-round.

This site shows Christmas day 2012 was a perfect 20° and clear blues skies.
