I have noticed that the steering wheel or column moves when you wobble it up and down and sometimes when you are leaning on it under breaking . Is this normal and any ideas how to get rid of it ? It s quite annoying .

Doesn't sound it. Where is it moving? Behind the wheel or further down?

That's not normal.

I had that on my first car (a Ford Fiesta 1.1L no less). Twice in fact. The first time was the steering wheel was actually not tightened properly. No even sure how it came loose.
The second was after I stuck it into a ditch. I had knackered something to do with the steering rack.

As a mate was fixing it, with parts from another Fiesta, he just swapped the rack, so I never knew what the issue was the second time.

Doesn’t seem correct, I’ve just checked mine absolutely no movement at all even when I’ve pulled the adjuster and lowered it.

Can’t say I’ve ever noticed any movement in mine. Is the adjustment locked firmly in place?
