Hi Lee, we assume this one:
http://www.nuvolalondon.com/car-details.php?id=742
Does anyone have any experience of the car previously?
Without the plate no, but you dont see that many silver GS's
With this being at Nuvola, should I still get an Independent inspection done or will this have already been done?
Nareman at Nuvola has a very, very good reputation. You should have zero issues.
Is Silver really that much of a disregarded colour when it comes to Gransports? (I really like it)
No, its actually one of the best colours for a GS. I understand your concern with Silver being a very last decade colour but due to the lightness of the car it shows off all the kit and curves the best. My black car for example does not, it all just blends into one.
You will need to 2 two things though, 1. have the wheels done in high gloss black and 2. change the grills to black so it stands out. I have a black grill so PM me and Ill do you a swap, no charge. The rear grills you can spray with some satin black or in situ with a brush. This all gives the silver some contrast and looks brilliant IMHO.
Any advice or guidance before i potentially jump in, would be really appreciated.
Clutch goes without saying. Dont look at the % worn, look at the history. If the car is showing 40% worn and has done 12k miles and its the first replacement clutch, then thats fine. If its the original clutch then you have a bill looming and the wear will be around the 70-85% worn. If the clutch is new but its had 3 clutches then this is problaby due to it having a history of clutch tang collapse. The jury is still out on the cause but some cars are def more susceptible than others and it points to something thats not right in the drive train, bearing shaft or even just the previous owner drove it in AUTO all the time, worth a call. Brakes and exhausts are no issue as are tyres but the obvious hot topic are the cracking and wearing wishbones. I would say to Nareman that you will be having them checked and if found to be cracked, he will be responsible for having them replaced, get it in writing on the receipt. Also check the other items, oil starvation on cold start up (rattling) erratic oil pressure (probably just the sender), leaks and all the usual stuff. Also check for bubbling below the rear lights or history of it having paint in this are, check for a blend round onto the quarter panel or the thinnest part of the metal up where the panel meets the roof. Also check the leading edge of the rear wheel arches.
Good luck, but my overall advice is buy it...getting a couple of grand off naturally if you can.
