X Pipe has arrived this morning, is it difficult to fit? One man job? Or should I send to my local?

How long is a piece of string?

It really depends how hands on you are, if you have changed an exhaust on any other car this will present no problems, if not you may be far better dropping it to your friendly workshop.

Top tip is to wrap the back box tailpipes in masking tape before you start so they don't Muller the rear bumper paint when wriggled!

The easiest place to start is the cross brace then rear pipes in front of the rear boxes as this is an angled split and needs less wriggle room, the central resonator section is easy after that, reverse to assemble. DIY time less than an hour once you have the car raised or over a pit to work.

You will need to loosen off the rear box clamps which are held near the gearbox, it might need some wiggling with a crowbar to move the boxes back to allow enough movement in getting the original resonator off. If you struggle book it in with Josh.

You can do the x pipe without taking the whole exhaust off . Just get a long bar to lever it all backwards near the gearbox .

Took the car to the garage to get the parts fitted, had a phone call about an hour ago saying it's one of the loudest they've heard. Bearing in mind this garage deal with koenigsegg's and currently have one of the 'holy trinity' in stock

Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow!!!

Ask if they have a sound meter. If it's over 120db you're in the ASBO club.

If not you're in Phil's whispering club.:rofl5::rofl5::rofl5:

Do you know if an app on an iPhone 6s would be accurate enough, or do you want an official sound meter? :D

:) My dear ginger friend, surely that's not a challenge? ;)

Broke a phone microphone last week btw, testing a new freeflow race car silencer in the barn. It clearly flows freely - it's just not quite so hot on the silencing front.

Another exhaust question

Wondering if anyone has simply removed the center silencer, replaced it with stainless steel straight through pipes and what the result was?
Car is getting the front end repainted and while there, the body shop has offered to do the above.

Thanks guys :)

The consensus is that the front cat pipes are where most of the sound is held back, fitting Larini Sportscats is the way to go but quite costly.

Phil, would you agree?
