You could spec them as they were an option on the GTS.....

That's right. The Birdcage wheels are viewed as the 4.2 upgrade wheel but once the GTS came out with Neptunes and then the GTS Auto with Tridents you could specify all three on the 4.7 as OEM. Original owner probably preferred Birdcage.

They were launched with the Neptune so that's what stays. Plus I prefer the design but each to their own.
