That sounds reasonable , well reasonable in the crazy world of Maserati prices , they'll certainly be top of my list if and when the time comes.

I posted in a thread on PH about cars that are crazy to buy but you want one anyway , one guy admired my 4200 , said he'd come close a few years ago until the guy pulled an invoice out for £14,000 worth of work in one hit , mostly suspension and electrical, when you look at the cost of wishbones back then I didn't disbelieve him

I told the AA I had been advised of serious wishbone issues & not to drive it until they had all been checked out by a specialist of my choice in Manchester. I welcomed any AA guy to do the checks but the passed & shipped it on a low loader/flat bed truck to Marios for me.

Had the wishbones checked and while it was there the annual service & secondary CAT & box box delete.

AA took the Spyder from Silverstone to Emblem when she threw ABS failure, Traction Control failure - we told them we had been advised not to drive in that condition. They collected it next day in a nice cover wagon and delivered straight there

Well i got it to work this morning and called the AA who are on their way . Trouble is it now goes into reverse and 1st gear... typical ! ...But its still slippin and very sluggish pulling away .

Is there any chance that it the PIS point is out of adjustment before i send it away on holiday to Exeter ? ?

If it's gone that far out of adjustment I'd suspect something has positively broken. So no (is my guess)

If it turns out to be a misaligned release bearing, your clutch is fooked now anyway, probably the flywheel too.

It will be the tangs, though, it always is!

Sounds just like mine when the tangs collapsed! Sorry.

Confirmed by F tech today . Collapsed clutch fingers ...what a suprise. The clutch was only 30% worn .

When they file their report to the RAC, make sure they used the word BROKEN clutch springs fingers.

That's 5% longer than mine lasted! I sent a complaint email to Valeo and never even got a reply! Anybody else ever tried complaining to them about this? The tang design is clearly not fit for purpose.

I would expect nothing else from them, if they gave a response, it could then enter into litigation so they don't.

Like the 3200 there must be a replacement aftermarket clutch available for the 4200!!!
