Cedfred bought his car in Hungary, it had never been in the U.K. The car that is (or was) in the U.K. is chassis #1896, it was imported to the U.K. in around 2000 and always retained its Italian registration number AS 408 DE, the last owner I am aware of was Philip Beale

Phil certainly was the owner during the photo shoot he only brought the car along due to issues with his Shamal which was originally planned to be in the shoot.

There was a Primatist at Prescott for the Maserati Club Concours the year before the Maserati Centenary. But sorry, I don’t know who owned it.

Has anyone heard of Cedfred? I've dropped him a PM but if anyone knows him personally it would be great to have the entire set of Ghibli IIs for what I have planned...
Oups sorry... just replied to your PM.... but I'm afraid I'm a bit late on this one :0036:
I would had love to be part of this shooting !

Or is it just that the UK doesn't value them as much ?
That’s a statement rather than a question, as we clearly don’t.

I never recall seeing one advertised in the U.K. I do know that I sold an absolutely mint restored 1999 Ghibli GT for £24k though.

Don’t get me wrong, I love them, but not £70k love.

The value different countries put on cars is interesting.

You also need to ignore the RoE. At 1.4 to the GBP that car looks better than it does at 1.1 !!!

5 years ago we bought a small flat in France at about 1.4. the rate then just dropped all the way to 1.1 i think, the mortgage went up every month !!!

More significant is the Brexit shift, 20% VAT on top now that never used to be there, but I won’t start the Brexit thread rant again ;)
