tyres on the drive had plenty of 19" on the list so I'd think anyone could get them , the performance tyre specialist in warrington in Jim Jeffries , he's now part of protyre who seem to be nationwide

OK, look, I know that this thread drift is kinda my fault, but before it gets completely out of hand, which tyres am I supposed to be getting and where am I supposed to be getting them from? Part of the problem seems to be 19in wheels, as many stockists are showing just 18 and 20s

Told ya Mark, Kumho, just pronounce it "Q mow". they will love you long time.

not sure about 19" tyres - I use my local wheel place in Woburn sands - Fred the tread. They seem to beat any price i find online, even supply only offers (usually £10 each for fitting).

Have Pzero up front, Contis on back until I need to fit the scrubbed in set of Michelin super sport I just acquired. Will get these up front next time too. Be nice to try non pirelli at the front, can't say the rears made any difference at all. These P zeros are not so good i nt e wet, but better than I am so I just wind my neck in during showers.

I need to start thinking about new tyres soon. At the moment they are Pzero 245/35 ZR 20 99Y on the fronts and 285/30 ZR 20 99Y

Looking an the usual suppliers none seem to list the 99Y - they are all 95 or 97Y. Picking up from previous threads is it this grade that are no longer available?
http://www.blackcircles.com/catalogue/pirelli/pzero/245/35/R20/Y/95/m?tyre=13543087

The other question I have is whether one can fit 255 fronts and 295 rears if this would give increased protection from kerbing the rims - no explanation needed!

I was also wondering about these for the fronts - they have the highest ratings C and A and a very much cheaper option

Camskill offer good prices as long as you have somewhere that will fit them, my experience is most one man bands will fit a set for £40, an example some I looked at for the MX5 are £62 at camskill, £92 fitted at tyres on the drive

yep – I just did this myself. 0.7% speed difference (which is minimal), and you get a tire that's wider (better), taller (better for bumps and wheel well fitting), and actually overlaps the wheel rim instead of pulling "in" from it (better for protecting your wheels, and I think looks better too)

not at all. people put 20-25mm spacers on without problems so 5mm bigger on each side is nothing.

These are the same numbers that are OEM for the Stradale so there shouldn't be an issue

Went on Pirellis uk web site and based on the QP they do not have any tires suitable. What the h..l is going on

Should have asked what pressures are used. I always put 32psi in but local tyre garage reckoned 36psi all round so decided to try it. The steering is a lot more sensitive with 36psi. Think I will compromise on 34psi

...but everyone says don't get the Pirellis anyway!

I'm thinking of Goodyear Eagle F1 next time

The most useful results for web searching I got were:
Camskill
Cartyres.com
Tyreleader.co.uk
Tyresonthedrive

As far as pressures go, always consult your handbook which will have the correct tyre size for your wheels too

Hi Mike

I have used Uniroyal Rainsport 3 on my Lexus GS Sport. Replacing Dunlop Sport Maxx(yes).

Overall I am very pleased. Softer side wall improved ride. Very quiet, and the grip levels seem far better to me.

The "rim Protection" of them is a bit useless - the Dunlops had a really wide/deep protection strip, so perhaps going 10mm wider as suggested earlier in this thread would be a good idea.

Have been really lucky over here. Michelin have done a special for August and I got but don't need yet 4 tyres for the price of three Michelin Pilot sport 4s.
Will keep them under wraps in the garage until I need them, oh and it includes fitting and balancing too.
