Yesterday Peter, a Melbourne Panel Beater, who is a car guy and rallys cars, related the story of a brush with a Maserati while he was on holidays on the south coast of NSW last year. This beautiful older Maserati driven by an older couple, was at the same service station in a little country town that he was, getting fuel. Peter and his wife left first in their 5 year old Audi 4WD and proceeded up the highway. Later the Maserati with a loud V8 roar, flashed past and eager to see what they were travelling at, Peter matched their speed at 200kph and was mightily impressed. Peter backed off as they went round a bend to see a copper rushing out of the bushes, zipping himself up running towards his Toyota Landcruiser 4WD. The Maserati had caught his attention. Peter was still doing 160kph himself in a 100 zone. Peter floored it for a couple of kilometres then backed off. He and the Maserati were long gone and he never saw the copper again.
