4200 Deer Impact

Hi guys,

I unfortunately hit a deer on the M62 last month damaging the bumper and grille beyond repair on my 52 reg 4200 Spyder.

Maserati UK apparently do not supply this model of grille any more, although the correct bumper is still available! - so would anyone know where I might obtain a good quality s/h grille?

As an alternative I can obtain the taller 05 facelift grille but would need the 05 bumper for the aperture size. Would anyone know if this later bumper would fit my earlier car, as Maserati appear to be unable to answer the question so far?

All advice gratefully received.........

Chris

Would this be of interest?

Not sure what shipping would be but possibly worth asking.

Thanks guys for all the very useful info and you are dead right Miket, the facelift bumper and grill fit fine. The car is now back on the road after 3+months delay due to waiting for parts etc etc. Not sure what happened to the deer - it's just a distant memory I'm trying to forget.

Good to know you have her back on the road Chris.
Just a shame it has been 3 months of the summer off the road.

Glad your finally sorted Chris. What front grill did you end up with?

By the way the Italian specialist chap I was going to give you details of sold up and now just works for a general workshop just outside Lincoln.

Hi Mike,

The grille now fitted is the slightly taller 04 version with 4 horizontal matt black slats. It looks fine to me, but everybody has an opinion. You told me about Gary J folding up when we last met. I presume there are no more independent Italian specialists in the Lincs area - unless you know different.......

I certainly don't know of anyone who specializes in Maserati.

A mate of mine uses a chap called Ashley in Gainsborough for his 3200 and seems well pleased with him. He has sorted a few problems for him. He has a Renault 5 GT turbo of his own. I took the 4200 to him to have the aircon regassed - It was working fine but in the very comprehensive main dealer service history I have with the car there was never any mention of the aircon being serviced. Anyway he his machine recovered approx. 60% of what was originally in. Since the regas I have noticed my cooling fans don't come on half as much as they did when the car is stood still.

I asked about the grille as I fancied a mesh one in mine as I have the slatted one at the moment.
