    I would guess the usual suspect on a 3200.

    Ouch, that's a decent repair bill, well done for seeing it through, i also had one bad period with the car which resulted in a 12k repair bill, it can be scary. The performance hike you are feeling, could be that old myth about the valve timing being deliberately off to remove some power under direction from Ferrari? So when you put it right it produces more power. Did you put it on a rolling road before and after? would have been interesting. There are documented cases on here of 3200's producing in the region of 410 HP in stock condition, so they can be pretty quick if the engines right. I always thought about checking and setting the valve timing, i may put it on my retirement to do list :-)
