All

I'm bored on a train, so was musing over what my perfect (real-world) 5 car garage could look like.

My list would be:

V4 - Mini Cooper S
V6 - Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography
V8 - Maserati Granturismo S
V10 - Audi RS6 Avant
V12 - Ferrari F12

Assuming you needed to have multiple different car types, to cover different uses, what would yours be?

A good friend of mine has actually done this.

His choices are:-

v4 - Lotus Exige
v6 - TVR Sagaris and Porsche 911R and Lexus NC500 (he says he needs to sell one!)
v8 - Ferrari F430
v10 - Dodge Viper ACR (it's mental!)
v12 - Lamborghini Murcielago MANUAL (one of 8 I think ever made)

The Lambo is one of my all time favourites and I love seeing it regularly. The Lexus is brand new and the first one delivered in Scotland. He loves it and that's
his daily driver mostly although he has an Audi Q7 too for his dogs.

Anyway, that's my friend's choices.

If it's going down the V route then here's mine.

V4 Easy. Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 2 in Giallo.
V6 I would say an Alfa GTV V6 as I've driven one, but I'm also thinking Jaguar XJ220, because they look bonkers.
V8 Ferrari F40
V10 Porsche Carrera GT
V12 Maserati MC 12 Corsa

Wow - that’s a very impressive real-life list...

I’d love to do this in real-life, which would mean my next car purchase would have to be either a V10 or V12...

Here's the Murcielago. It's just magnificent. Smaller than you'd imagine and sounds incredible.

V4 - Lancia Integrale. Got to be red does it not Geoff :)
V6 - Maserati Spyder Zagato
V8 - Maserati Spyder Classico
V10 - Lambo Gallardo Spyder
V12 - Bentley Meteor. For gits & shiggles - but mostly to scare the living pi*s out of German barges.

Narrowing the choice down to the cars I've owned (or still own):

V4 - Porsche 944 turbo SE
V6 - Maserati Ghibli Cup (closely followed by the Venturi Atlantique twin-turbo)
V8 - Maserati MC-Victory (closely followed by the GranTurismo-S MC-Shift)
V10 - Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni
V12 - Lamborghini Diablo 6lt.

(N.B. I've not had a V10 car, so this is a fantasy choice.)

I'm sure this would change on a daily basis, but let's give it a go...

4V - (my) Lotus Elise
V6 - Alfa 156 Sportwagon 3.2 v6 GTA - for the real world day to day stuff :)
V8 - Ferrari F40
V10 - Lamborghini Gallardo / Huracán of some description (struggling for a v10 but I think one of these would be routinely usable / reliable etc.)
V12 - Ferrari Daytona

When you said 'real world' 5 car garage was the plan that you shouldn't own proper crazy things like the F40?

If it was an out and out pick 5 cars with that number of cylinders, it'd probably change to...

4V - (still my) Lotus Elise
I6 - Porsche 962
V8 - (also still the) F40
V10 - Ferrari F2002
V12 - 250 GTO

I'm sure I could stick a Fiat 500 in for 2 cylinders too ;)

Interesting replies from everyone... a few of you have a somewhat different view of the real-world than I might have, but good fun nonetheless...
