Yes Simon..I had nothing but a great experience buying from them. Simon new his stuff and was a real enthusiast. They worked out of Bath for a while as Caracalla then move to a barn on the outskirts. They chNged they name to Cortese but then added Caracalla luggage to what they sold as well. They were a dealer for that Maserati tuning outfit as well and had a 3200 demo with the engine upgrades....for the life of me can't remember the name....Began with L I think. Still have the magazine review.

Andy, the tuning kit for the 3200 was called/from Leo Nardo.

(I mentioned this in my earlier post. Please keep up at the back!;))

Never heard of them, but now see that they have 7 3200's in stock. I bet that's the first time ever, anywhere, that a dealer has stuck there neck out (with 3200's) quite so far. 99% of traders wouldn't stock 1, let alone 7! It's a brave but welcome stance.

Surely SOR or they are crazy

Their last showroom was at Priston Mills.

Yes it was a very lovely place to view the cars..Cameron Porsche specialist was on the same site.....

That’s the ones Ewan...Sorry it’s been a long week...Promise to keep up in the future. I like their tuning products. Not too over top style wise.

I contacted them a couple of weeks ago about the Red one with 67k miles. When I enquired if it had had the chain service he laughed and told me the 3200 didn't have chains!! I bought a lovely 43k model a week later...not from Lake Side Motors.

They, obviously, do have chains. No one changes unless noise. It certainly wouldn't have put me off, an otherwise, well maintained car.

Not a good start for a garage trying to establish itself to the Maserati mark.

It wasn't the fact it hadn't had the service that put me off. It was the fact he lied and tried to make me feel like an idiot. If I didn't trust him I was hardly going to buy a car off him!

I had a guy like that selling jaguar parts, I was looking for a chain kit for an XK8 , I asked a question and got a reply that really annoyed me but his was the only place I could find that had stock as they were on factory back order so reluctantly I ordered them , not an hour later the mechanic called and said he found some locally

I rang knobhead back to cancel , you can't cancel, I've already sent them , what, you've picked, packed and sent them by courier in an hour, yes they've gone.

Ok i'll just send them back when they get here , Ok we'll charge you a 20% re stocking fee

er have you heard of the distance selling regulations , what you're suggesting is illegal

Phone goes down

20 minutes later, phone rings, I'm going to refund your money as I've managed to re route the shipment to another customer who ordered the exact same kit just after you did

Probably more like I've looked at the distance selling regulations and i'm stuffed

No I’m crazy. I bought them all and

Hi Guys, I thought I’d join in on this conversation to answer a few of your doubts, thoughts and questions. My name is Dan and I own/run Lake End Autos (LE Autos) and have done since 2012, I’ve always been into cars and I was lucky enough to turn my passion into a viable business. So Regards this thread I’ll give you bit of background of my journey with the 3200 and then I’ll get to the car in question (red 3200). I’ve always had a soft spot for the 3200 and I’ve owned a countless amount as personal Cars and sale cars since 2001. I owned the yellow 3200 with the green leather many years ago some of you may know the As you’d never forget if you you have seen it, apparently it’s been change to Black now. I was told it was that crazy combo due to it being the Earl’s Court show car originally (so I was told) . Anyway I purchased my 1st 3200 in 2001 and have owned 1 or more eversince. So they are a passion of mine. Now When I decided to buy a few it was simply to do exactly what’s been suggested, tweak the market because in my opinion all these other cars, 911’s, 355’s and so on suddenly went crazy and the 3200 didn’t and that to me seemed very odd as I’ve always held them right up with the best of them. Because they are all of what the other contenders had to offer. Now I could go on and on justifying the reasons behind my thoughts but you all know them already. So I set out to raise the market value which I believe have done to some effect. I was in no hurry and knew it would be a long term project. I just don’t understand why they’ve never been recognised for what they are. Stunning to look at, awesome to drive, powerful, Italian and a beautiful supercar.
So I started buying a few more. Now the ones I have are all hand picked with all the correct credentials and before point of sale have a full belt service, mot and anything that needs to be done is done as said before sold. So let’s get on to the Red 3200 I did nothing to and simply purchased it one day and the next put it on sale for more money the next. Chaps you couldn’t be further from the truth. That car to date in my ownership has had a fully and professional repaint due to red faded panels (no damage, just years of sun) and not a slap dash but obviously a complete strip down beautiful glass finish repaint, 4 AC refurbished Alloys upgrade, interior leather treated and reconalised, a full factory carbon pack with a Becker sat/nav head unit fitted, new power steering pipes, new rocker gaskets, new hand brake cables and shoes, replacement rad, engine bay striped painted rockers and detailed hence the gaskets, exchange the front grill for a very good secondhand one, air con repaired, a full belt service. Brake callipers painted red with decals, bonnet struts and lots other bits like sticky window switchs replaces and so on and on and on which were picked up on its recent belt and inspection service. So believe me when I say it’s had a lot of love, it has,,..and has recently been sold to a happy and very nice chap. Typical he’s already had a light ping up on the dash and funnily enough it’s back with us having a few more gremlins sorted and looks like I’ll be having the throttle body reconditioned for my customer next week. You all be saying to yourselves whilst reading this. Yep that’s sounds like a 3200 but with all their niggles and problems we still love them and after having them for so many years I’ve experienced pretty much every problem going. Sometimes I do wonder why I chose to sell them as there are easier ways of making money in the car trade. So yes I’ve sold a few and the rest are waiting for their new owners sooner or later. I hope that’s helped clear up a few questions and if you own one I’ve done you a favour as they have gone up since I Started this exercise so no harm done. Another comment was regarding the Sud. Yes that car was better than the day it left the factory when new ..... I had that completely nut and bolt restored and it went to Malta. It was stunning. One last thing I have loads of spares for the 3200 so if you need anything call me off the website and I’ll be happy to help if I can. All I’d ask is you collect in person as I won’t post parts out. So happy Massering and it’s not always what it seems. Thanks for reading. Dan

This is a reply to and earlier thread and I’ll just add a little bit more to it for this thread. None of them were or are SOR. Yes I am crazy and did buy them as I explained above. I now have 5 and yes it’s been slow but I was always prepared for that. I love the 3200 and my mission was to raise the market value which a believe I have to some degree. I certainly don’t rely on the sales of the 3200’s to run my company or Id be finished like sadly for other companies. There’ll go eventually or I’ll simply leave the to a charity ( My Kids ). No on a serious note theres a bum for every seat as we say in the trade. I hope the above gives you all a bit of background now and I’m obviously not a forum kinda guy but stumbled across these threads and wanted to say get involved. If there’s anything I can help you with please don’t hesitate. In know expert but have picked up some knowledge over the years and a do have basically a whole car to break. I won’t post out tho so collection in person. Thanks again Dan

Nice to hear this rather than endless speculation :/ Good luck with them, they look great and late models will be very desirable.

Italian cars is always a passion and if you can make business sense out of it all well and good. The 3200 is a case in point a heart over head purchase if ever there was one find a good one and enjoy.

And welcome to the madhouse, keep up the good work.

Hi Dan

I suspect the red one is an example I considered that was being sold by a relocating French chap. The maintaining specialist told me it needed money spent so I gave it a miss. Excellent to hear you are investing money to get the cars up to scratch so that future owners can enjoy them.

There is a Lambo dealer near me that had a business model to use his wealth to buy all good recent models and control the market; he has been pretty successful. It's a shame that despite some good press the 3200 is not in more demand. Plenty of threads on this forum to explain why they are still not popular.

It's great to read what you are doing and I wish you every success. I'm sure all 3200 owners on here will be pleased if you can move the market upwards.

Good read and best of luck with the venture...I think I speak for all when I say we hope you succeed.

Re the yellow 3200, I believe it was written off shortly after the retrim whist parked at the side of the road...obviously the other driver could not miss it!

Peter.

Your absolutely correct and this but I do love a challenge. I don’t rely on these though. This was always a long term venture. I’ve sold a few now. Thanks Dan @ LE Autos.

I really appreciate your comments, yes it’s been a slow process but as I said I knew it would be and it’s the car itself I’ve always enjoyed and loved. For sure there’s easier ways of making money but these cars deserve the recognition. When I get to the last one whichever that maybe it’ll be kept and by then I’m sure the prices will keep on rising. They’ve certainly gone since I started the exercise.
Thanks again Dan
